Character Bio: In "Erin Brockovich," Albert Finney plays attorney Ed Masry, who is persuaded by his legal assistant, Erin, to represent several families affected by water pollution. Masry is blackmailed into hiring the fast-talking Brockovich as a legal assistant after he loses two of her cases. While working for him, she comes across medical records in a real estate file and becomes intrigued. He allows her to investigate. Many reviews say part of "Brockovich's" charm is the interaction between Masry and Brockovich the two rub each other wrong and yet bond. Masry is exasperated by the dress and manner of Brockovich. He's also nearing retirement and not really willing to take on such an involved case. In the end, he and his outrageous employee bring out the best in each other as Brockovich rekindles his passion for justice.
